ZATCA Foils attempt to Smuggle over 8 KG of Methamphetamine (Shabu) at Albatha Customs Port

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) thwarted an attempt to smuggle 8.6 kilograms of Methamphetamine (shabu) concealed inside of a truck entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the port.

ZATCA’s official spokesperson Mr. Hamoud Al-Harbi, stated that during customs procedures and inspections, ZATCA has found 8.6 kg of Methamphetamine (shabu) concealed inside the floor of the truck

Al-Harbi added after the operation was completed and coordination was made with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) resulting in the arrest of four individuals who were receiving the seized items inside Saudi Arabia.

Al-Harbi emphasized that ZATCA reaffirms its continued commitment to strengthening customs control over Saudi Arabia’s imports and exports and to confronting all smuggling attempts. This effort aligns with one of the core pillars of ZATCA’s strategy: enhancing security and protecting society by limiting the entry of harmful substances and other prohibited items.
Al-Harbi urged the public to contribute to combating smuggling in order to safeguard society and the national economy. Informants may be eligible for a financial reward if the report’s information proves to be accurate.
